List-less But Not Listless

I have lots of lists. If we had all day, that might give me enough time to enumerate for you the grand and subtle, the titanic and miniature, the vague and specific works the Lord has been doing over the past year or more to get us to this place. Perhaps place is not the right word since our physical move has not happened yet. The word position does much better service to where we are at this moment. The Brogan family is moving from Birmingham to the Atlanta, Georgia, area in a couple of months. Birmingham has been home for fourteen years. All of our children entered our family in Birmingham (so to speak). It's the only home our children have ever known. We have grown and struggled here and found community and purpose in this city, so much so that for years we proclaimed this as our forever home, where we would grow old and host our grandchildren. Still. Still. Still. (a confession in real time)

Morning, Wednesday, January 31 : Wake up and check the adoption fundraising account. Thankful for the generosity of friends and loved ones. Truly Thankful. Secretly send a side glance at the difference between what we have been given so far and what we need. Resolve to pray more and trust God. All day Wednesday, January 31 : Obsessively check fundraising site every other hour (oh, me of little faith and even less patience) waiting for it to jump. Make mental and physical lists of things to sell, people to approach, art to make to raise money. Basically deny the peace and rest that Jesus continually extends to us through His word, intercession, and communion. Repent. Evening, Wednesday, January 31 : Reminded by the Holy Spirit to be still and wait. The Lord is over this and in this. Not my job - or at all within my power - to accomplish anything on my own.
